Each year the Christmas Project provides 500-600 hampers to families and individuals so they could celebrate Christmas with food for a Christmas lunch or dinner as well as age appropriate toys and gifts for children up to 15 years of age. The families come mainly from the Newlife Care support network and from many agencies that provide support for people in need in the local Gold Coast community.
We have again been overwhelmed by the generosity of Newlife and the local community, who allowed us to distribute 610 Hampers to families. There were also enough toys donated from a range of community partners to satisfy the needs of all the families that we were able to support.
We certainly experienced favour, no doubt about it! A BIG THANK YOU to the Christmas Project team, to Viv and to everyone who made Christmas better for family and a child, you’re awesome!
More than 2,300 toys were donated to the Project by organisations, agencies, individuals, schools, clubs and businesses. Toys and hampers were distributed via 31 agencies, 52 schools and to 40 individuals directly.
We also had some businesses take up the opportunity to provide tax deductible donations to the project.
