Newlife Care

About Us

Newlife Care offers support to those in the community facing challenges in their personal, family and social lives. We understand that the pressures of living often affect the ability to provide well for oneself or loved ones, to enjoy life and achieve the full potential.

Since 1985 Newlife Care has been supporting the Gold Coast community  by providing

  • emergency food aid,
  • a social engagement program for people with a disability, their families and carers,
  • assistance to those who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness,
  • a pampering service for ladies going through physical, emotional, mental or financial hardship, which involves an educational session to power women by providing training in practical life skills
  • a service that reaches out to agency referred and other people coming out of difficult circumstances and after determining their need, assisting to connect with internal services and external service providers of our Gold Coast service provider network.
  • a course that assists with financial budgeting, ‘CAP Money Course’.
  • a project that supports refugees ‘The Welcome Home Project’.
  • a Brisbane based program ‘Brisbane City Meals’ that provides warm meals to the homeless.

For many years a core service of the organisation was the counselling and psychology service, which was the first service established by the founders John & Annette Tully. While this service is no longer available, we are working with other counselling and psychology services on the Gold Coast, which enables our team to refer clients to such services.

Newlife Care is also a community development organisation, equipping and mobilising people to be catalysts for community change.

Our vision is to be Empowering Local People for Local Good.

At our Robina campus you can also access the Newlife Church, Newlife Care Op Shop and the Newlife Café. Newlife Care is a registered non-profit charitable organisation.

Newlife Care

Our History

Newlife Care grew from the Mission of the former Rev. John Tully (OAM) who started The New Life Ministry at Street Level Incorporated in 1985. The mission counselled people who had drug, alcohol or gambling addictions or difficult personal relationships. The team educated people to avoid such difficulties and trained people in counselling.

The first few years of the mission were spent in a first-floor office on the corner of Cavill and Orchid Avenues, then the Team moved into the office in the grounds of the Clifford Street Uniting Church in Surfers Paradise.

When Clifford Street Uniting Church closed they joined with a number of other churches to form Robina-Surfers Paradise Uniting Church, Newlife Ministry at Street Level moved to the current site at 4 Greenwich Court, Robina.

When John (and his wife Annette) retired, the ministry was changed to Newlife Care Inc. and the service was expanded to incorporate a broader range of help and support services. John Tully was awarded with the Order of Australia for his work in addictions and counselling.

We are always seeking talented and diverse individuals to bring passion and enthusiasm to the Newlife Care team. If you would like more information about joining our team please contact us on 07 5593 3262 during office hours (Monday to Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm) or email [email protected].
